Week 5:  "Making Plans" (Chapter 11)

 

Task 1:  I am going to learn to speak good English!

1.1  Watch this video about the use of be going to for future plans. Do the exercises included in the video.

 

 

1.2  Take turns with your partners to spin the wheel.  Ask your partners the question you get in the wheel; after that, you should answer the question too! 

 

 

Task 2:  Save the Date!

Together with your partners, unscramble these dates and sentences that include a date in them.

 

 

Task 3:  I would like to become fully bilingual!

Unscramble the words to get sentences that use would like for wishes.

 

 

Task 4:  I'm going to have a party!  I would like to invite you!

4.1  Plan an invitation for three of the events below. Make notes.

barbecue      birthday party      end-of-exams party    fancy dress party      New Year’s Eve party      street party

 

1) What is the event? Why are you holding it?

2) When and where is the event?

3) What should the person do or bring?

 ________

 

4.2  Now, write the invitations.  Make two of them formal and one, less formal.
